The airworthiness engineer will assist Military Type Certificate Holder Organization to carry out its responsibilities for the A330 MMF aircraft.

Job Description and Activities
The Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) program is a multinational program by Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Norway and the Czech Republic. It provides these participants with a worldwide Air to Air Refuelling (AAR), Air Transport (AT) and Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) capability with eventually ten A330 MMF Multi Role Tanker/Transport (MRTT) aircraft.
The MMF Multinational Unit (MMU) is the operational unit within the MMF program. The MMU is based at Eindhoven AB (NLD) with up to five aircraft, and has a permanent Forward Operating Base at Cologne/Wahn AB (GER) with up to five aircraft. Governance of the MMF program is done by the participating nations who have instituted a Multinational Executive Board (MEB) and a Steering Group (SG). The MEB has provided the Commander MMU (C-MMU) the mandates in order to be able to act as the Accountable Manager.

Within the MMF program, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) in Capellen (LUX), acts on behalf of the participating nations as the owner of the fleet and performs various program management activities, including financial management and contract management. NSPA has committed to provide the required resources to the Netherlands Command Material & information Technology (COMMIT) for Military Type Certificate Holder Organisation (MTCHO).
The MTCHO for the A330 MMF aircraft is the Type Office MRTT and resides within Ressort Weaponsystems & Businesses, Aviation Systems Division within the Netherlands Command Material & Information Technology. The vacancy for the position of engineer is a direct result of the NSPA commitment.
The Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) program has arranged that The Netherlands will be Registrating Nation of all A330 MMF aircraft and thus the certification of the A330 MMF is done under the authority of the MAA-NLD under Dutch Aviation Law. Dutch Aviation Law requires that any military aircraft has a Military Type Certificate (MTC). The applicant for a Military Type Certificate, or Supplemental Military Type Certificate (MSTC), is by policy part of the Dutch Ministry of Defence (MoD-NLD).
The MTCHO has the legal responsibility for maintaining the M(S)TC during its continued airworthiness phase, which implies:

• Assuring the type design remains in compliance with the certification basis.
• Changes to the design have to be approved by or on behalf of the MAA-NLD.
• Apply for approval from the MAA-NLD in case of design changes classified as major change.
• Approve design changes classified as minor under the granted privilege from the MAA-NLD.
• In case of non-compliances to the type design, provide a no-technical objection to support an exemption.
• Assuring correct publications are available to the operator.

* Recording and reporting occurrences.

The engineer will assist the Type Office MRTT:

• to perform the role of engineer or X-check engineer for certification efforts by means of validation in line with instructions per Military Type Certificate Holder Organization Exposition (MTCHOE);
• to perform the role of engineer in certification activities by means of verification for various dossiers.

Additionally:
1. General activities;

• contribute to quality assurance policies within the MRTT Type office;
• advising with respect to the establishment/improvement of the relevant processes managing the type certificate;
• advising with respect to the establishment/improvement of the relevant processes obtaining a supplemental type certificate;
• advising the head of the MRTT Type Office regarding the airworthiness of the type design;
• preparing periodic progress reports and management information;
• representing the MRTT Type Office in various internal and external (international) meetings;
• participating in (international) work or project groups;
• acting as an intermediary between the operational user and the OEM;
• following developments in several areas of expertise;
• suggesting relevant training or courses in one's own area of interest;
• presenting topics regarding one's own area of interest to colleagues.

2. Assisting within projects of MRTT Type Office or Aviation Systems Division;

• translating policy, legislation and regulations in the area of applicability of the MRTT Type Office for relevance and practical applicability;
• developing and formulating policies in one's own area of expertise in accordance with (inter)national aviation laws and regulations (including the Military Aviation Requirements (MLEs));
• developing plans to maintain the continued airworthiness of the type and ensuring the recording, implementation and management thereof.

3. Supports by;

• examining the certification ability of military aircraft modifications;
• contributing to engineering support plans.

4. Other;

• occasionally the engineer will work together with scientific institutes on research assignments, with industry parties and with representatives from various national and international forums in the field; among others, the members of the MRTT Fleet, the OEM's, and other nationals in possession of MRTT aircraft;
• occasionally the engineer will participate in meetings with the MMU at the MOB Eindhoven or the FOB at Cologne/Wahn AB (GER).
