Junior researcher ‘ecological impacts of global supply chains’

We are looking for a motivated junior researcher with the following characteristics:

• You hold an MSc degree in a relevant discipline (a.o. industrial ecology, environmental biology, environmental science) with a clear focus on quantitative modelling approaches.
• You have proven affinity with spatially explicit environmental modelling, preferably including the modelling of ecosystem services.
• You have affinity and/or interest in life cycle assessment and/or input-output modelling.
• You are familiar with open-source programming languages commonly used in environmental research (notably R and/or Python) and you have experience with GIS software.
• You have a drive for policy-relevant scientific research that contributes to solving environmental issues and sustainability challenges.
• You have the capacity to deliver on your tasks and deliverables and respond in a timely manner to deadlines.
• You have great communication skills (both written and spoken).
• Dutch is the working language at PBL. English is spoken in international project teams. Therefore, you are expected to be fluent in English (written and spoken). A basic level of Dutch (mainly spoken) is appreciated.

Training
