As a Social Worker for the Public Entity Sint Eustatius, you support individuals in the community that are facing personal and social challenges in their daily lives. You manage cases, develop tailored support plans, guide and coach social support staff (life coaches), and play a critical role in crisis intervention, particularly in response to reports that come in through the soon-to-be-established Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Advice & Reporting Center. You report to the Unit Manager and are responsible for delivering high-quality, effective care that meets the needs of the community.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Provide information, advice, and guidance to individuals who face social challenges;
• Conduct needs assessments and develop comprehensive support plans;
• Coach and supervise social support staff, and coordinate referrals where necessary;
• Handle crisis calls and conduct initial assessments for domestic violence or child abuse cases;
• Implement appropriate interventions in emergency situations;
• Mediate with government agencies and service providers to access support and resources;
• Collaborate closely with the team, discuss approaches and contribute to the development of social policies;
• Represent the organization in stakeholder meetings, working groups, and consultation platforms.
• Take the lead in implementing preventive debt-relief programs and budgeting courses.
